Riding is simple...it's just not easy!

We have very limited occasional openings for new students. We offer instruction from beginning to advanced riders, general horsemanship, and coaching in the areas of horsemanship, barrels and poles. We are primarily a western riding barn, although we sometimes use an English saddle in lessons and offer instruction in basic hunt seat. Please contact LeeAnn at 731-402-0558 for information about availability and scheduling. We currently offer lessons on Monday, Wednesday and Thursday.
Our instruction focuses on
- creating a mutually respectful and fun relationship with our horses
- developing a balanced, independent seat with an emphasis on correct body position
- building clear lines of communication between horse and rider
We are dedicated to the health, happiness and well- being of our horses and the safety, enjoyment, and growth of our riders. We promote a relaxed yet professional atmosphere.
In order to be successful in horsemanship, riders need an ongoing program of work and instruction- whether the goal of instruction is to simply be a better rider, fulfill a child's (or adult's) dream of learning more about horses, or to compete successfully at local, state and even national levels. Lessons are taught in a supportive atmosphere, emphasizing the positive while challenging the abilities and weakness to optimize learning, fun and horsemanship skills.

The secret to success with horses is knowledge, consistency, and time. You get consistency from understanding, which comes from knowledge - and you have to put in the time.

A horse knows how to be a horse; the rider has to learn how to become a rider. A horse without a rider is still a horse; a rider without a horse is no longer a rider.
